It is a fairly simple heat treat and may be quenched in either water or oil.<br>This is some of the finest Japanese blade steel similar to sword steel and makes great kitchen knives, hunting knives etc.<br>White paper steel is extremely fine grain takes a razor edge and is ideal for knives requiring the sharpest edge possible.
