This classic Children's Corner pattern, Bessie, is a front-opening dress that you can smock front and back if you wish, or leave it unsmocked for a variation of the basic yoke dress. This pretty style offers a choice of square or round collar and short, puffed sleeves. It is designed for approximately six rows of smocking, and you can use the enclosed smocking design or one of your choosing.
This particular pattern is the 1981 edition; this pattern was published for many years but is currently out of print.
This pattern is for size 7 and 8. It is cut and lightly used, but all pieces are enclosed and intact, including the optional smocking design. The pattern envelope has some wear, tear and yellowing (see photos). Also the instruction sheet is somewhat fragile and appears sunburned. Although this particular pattern was not stored properly, it remains one of the most popular in CC history and does not come available very often.
