    ORIGINAL VINTAGE HOLLAND-AMERIKA 1ST CLASS ONLY SS "NIEUW-AMSTERDAM" BRASS AND COPPER HINGED WOOD LINED CIGARETTE BOX  -LOOKS LIKE MAHOGANY

    Up for bids is a very unique vintage ship ocean liner collectible.
    Vintage Holland-Amerika Lijn (Holland America Line) 1st Class Only S.S. "Nieuw-Amsterdam" wood-lined hinged brass cigarette box with a copper name badge for the ship liner company. I believe that the wood lining may be mahogany.
    Measures 4 3/8 x 3 x 1 5/8 inches.
    Condition: well used and displaying light tarnishing, a little bit of tarnish or verdigris in the inside lip. Light surface scratching and shelf wear on the base.  Traces of old brass polish throughout, as you can see from the images. Wood is in very nice condition. Hinge works well and is tight and lid fit is good - no twisting when opening or closing, etc.  I don't mind the old patina and flaws, but it could be polished to a like-new sheen, if desired.  A wonderful collectible for the transportation enthusiast / traveler.
